The Australian wildfires have decimated millions of acres and killed millions of animals. Onlookers from around the globe are contemplating the appropriate steps in aiding in crisis relief. In Australia in Flames, players have the opportunity to simulate the experience of viewing the fires from an outsider’s perspective and acting accordingly. Players get to learn more about the fires and their effects and also learn what measures they can take to combat the intensifying disaster effectively.

The game follows a narrative structure at the beginning and later goes in more interactive direction. The narrative serves to provide context and essential background information that the player needs before jumping into the game. The interactive nature of the game stays faithful to the facts and ongoing real-life events while players explore several viable ways of providing aid remotely.

Colour played an important role in the development of the game.
